Who are you?

You all remember Alice in Wonderland, right? Remember that hookah-smoking caterpillar who would always say, "who are you?"

And remember that there was a walrus in Alice in Wonderland?

And remember that very druggy old Beatles song, "I Am The Walrus"?

So, this is basically an interpretation of the song. The Walrus came along, and came across the Caterpillar. Caterpillar gave his usual, "who are you?", and the Walrus answered. However, Caterpillar had one to many puffs of the hookah, so that song's basically what he heard. I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't the first to make this connection, but I decided to do it anyway. Much like my picture with pikachu and butterfree, this was funner when I came up with it, back when I thought drug jokes were more humourous. Just to let you know, I come up with these things long before I actually draw them. Sometimes, if I don't find the joke funny, I might cut the picture out, but this one wasn't.

I originally was planning to make Caterpillar a little more caterpillarish, as I am a great fancier of caterpillars. I then decided he wouldn't be Caterpillar any more, so I tried making it look like him. I ended up trying to translate the character verbatim from the book :/ Sometimes I do get a little obsessive over making the character look like the original in fanart. I think I actually sometimes take measurements of the picture to make sure the proportions are right. Guess that isn't really great for an artist, but I'm a little obsessive for an artist.

As for Walrus, after trying to put clothes one one, I now have much more respect for John Tenniel for being able to do it. Dressing a walrus in a suit of clothes is ridiculously hard.

But I'm pretty pleased with the result. The shadows are ridiculous though. X_x
