The magikarp and the feebas

Said magikarp to feebas, oh how I wish I was you
For life being a magikarp makes me feel really blue
Oh, how I truly hate how I can’t do a thing at all
When it comes to battle, I’m always the first to fall
Being a magikarp just makes my life oh so tragic
I don’t know where my name comes from, for I’m quite far from magic.
Said feebas to magikarp, being weak may be a pain
But does it compare to the awfulness of being plain?
I’m just an ugly minnow who looks pale and battered
My goggly eyes are sunken and my tail fin is so tattered
When I see someone coming, I immediately hide
Being a feebas gives me absolutely no pride.
Said magikarp to feebas, it’s not bad as being weak
I feel being so powerless completely fully reeks
Oh, how I hate being myself; what I’d give to be you
For when you are in battle there’s so much more you can do
You can climb up waterfalls, or make it rain and hail
Or you can make blizzards; all I do is splash and flail.
Said feebas to the magikarp, choice is no use to me
I may do more than you can, but I’m hideous as can be
Why be able to fight if no trainer looks your way?
I hide from everybody, and swim gloomily all day
You wear a suit of golden mail and boast a shining crown
You beautifully reflect the sun from your gleaming head down
Said magikarp to feebas, surely, you’re the one in luck
It really is unpleasant to have people say you suck
Said feebas to the magikarp, you certainly have it best
I lack your shimmering scales or your ornamental crest
Said magikarp to feebas, I do not see how you feel
I’m never safe from pidgeots, they want me as their meal
Said feebas to the magikarp, at least you’re given heed
It’s much worse of a life to live rejected in the weeds
So, they both went their separate ways, envying one another
Each pokemon went off wishing that they could be the other
So, next time you wish that you were someone you were not
That person just may envy you, maybe give that some thought.
I've written a few pokemon poems a while ago, and this one happens to be my favourite (and my first), so I decided to post it.

The idea came from when I noticed that the two pokemons' evolutions was sort of a flip; magikarp isn't portrayed as ugly like feebas is, and it eventually evolves into a powerful battler. Feebas has a larger arsenal than magikarp, and evolves into what is considered the most beautiful pokemon. I originally had that incorporated in the poem, but it disrupted the flow, so I had to get rid of it.

I have a few other poems which I may or may not submit later. For now, enjoy this one.

And sorry if I posted this in the wrong catergory. My knowledge on what kind of poem this is escapes me.

Edit: Darn, I forgot to say that Magikarp and Feebas are part of the pokemon franchise, and in no way my creation. Well, I said it now. And please comment before favouriting.

I love it! I think it's really creative and well written, and it has a great moral, too.

Love it, well done. Reminded me of Lewis Carroll's "The Walrus and the Carpenter", for some odd reason. Regardless, it was an interesting concept with a moral I wasn't expecting to see. Kudos, it gave me a smile.

Thanks a lot for the comment! And I suppose it does have a bit of a Carroll ring to it now that I think of it. Thanks!

This is really cool. Looks like something that might exist in the Pokemon Universe.
